A roadmap slide shows where a plan starts, where it is going and what happens on the way. The road does the explaining for you. Everyone understands that the next stop comes after this one.
The 20 templates below are sorted by what sits along the road: named project phases, product stages, years or numbered stops. Pick the group that matches your plan, then pick the road you like. Every label, date and note can be changed.
Roads with project phases: Discover to Executing
A road that rises to the horizon
A gray road narrows toward the top of the slide, and four colored tags step down its right side: Discover, Analyze, Planning and Executing. The rising road gives a sense of moving forward.
Road signs on a stepped road
Four diamond road signs, 01 to 04, stand along a road that steps down like stairs. Discover, Analyze, Planning and Executing sit below them with their notes.
Four chevrons on a straight road
This is the simplest road here: four colored chevrons, 01 to 04, on one straight line across the slide. Discover, Analyze, Planning and Executing sit underneath with their notes.
A road with a loop and four tags
The road makes a loop at the top, then winds down past four arrow tags from Discover to Executing. The loop is a good spot to mention a step you repeat.
Four pins on a diagonal road
A wide road runs from the bottom left to the top right. Four pins, A to D, mark Discover, Analyze, Planning and Executing, each with a short note.
Three pins with percentages
Pick this one to show how far along each stage is. Three map pins on a curving road each carry a big percentage and a label: Discover, Planning and Execute.
Roads with product stages: Concept to Release
A road that dips and climbs
A dark navy road dips and climbs across the slide. Four triangle markers sit on the peaks, Concept, Decision, Testing and Release, with notes in the dips.
Four banners and four numbers
Use this one when you also have numbers to report. Four big percentages with notes fill the left side, for things like budget used or tasks done. Four arrow banners, Release, Concept, Decision and Testing, point at a navy road in the corner.
A road in square steps
The road moves up and down in square steps, like a chart line. Four colored markers sit on it for Release, Concept, Decision and Testing.
Five flags on an S-shaped road
Five flags stand along an S-shaped road: Release, Concept, Decision, Testing and Results. It is the only road here with a fifth stage for results.
Four push pins down a winding road
Four push pins, Release, Concept, Decision and Results, run down a road that winds from the top of the slide to the bottom. The left side stays clear for your title and one short line.
Three circles on a looping road
Only three stages here. Release, Concept and Decision sit in colored circles on a road that twists into tight loops, and their notes sit in a list on the left.
Roads with years
Six flags from 1990 to 1995
Six year flags, 1990 to 1995, stand along a blue road on a gray background, each with a note. Change the years to fit your history.
Map pins toward the horizon
A dark road runs into the distance on a cream background. Map pins with years stand along it, each with a note. It suits a company history or a long-term plan.
Cars on a looping road with five years
A road loops back and forth on a lilac background, with small cars driving along it. Five circles on posts mark the years 1990 to 1994.
Four red flags on a winding road
A dark road winds up the slide on a cream background, with four red flags marking the years 1990 to 1993. The big red title sits in the bottom corner.
Roads with numbered stops or distances
Six numbered stops on a snaking road
Six numbered circles mark the stops on a blue road that snakes up and down, with small cars driving along it. It fits a six-month or six-step plan.
Four numbered flags on a gray road
A soft gray road curves across the slide with four numbered flags in different colors. The four notes line up along the bottom.
Six pins on a zigzag road
Six red map pins mark the turns of a dark zigzag road on a lilac background, each with a note. The sharp turns suit a plan that changed direction more than once.
Distance markers from 10 to 40 km
Four small cars sit at 10 km, 20 km, 30 km and 40 km along a wavy navy road. Swap the distances for months, budgets or sales targets.
Before you pick a road
Count your stages first. Most roads here hold four stops, and a few hold three, five or six. If your plan runs on dates, start with the year roads and type in your own years. If you report progress, pick one with percentages. Keep each stop to two or three words and put the detail in its note.
